Hi, I'm Steve and I'm from a family of oil men. Roughneck jobs are in high demand. It's a competitive marketplace because the jobs are so good and some of the guys I know seem to be taking the wrong approach with their resumes and applications. These guys send out an application and then wait and wait and never hear back. Most give up and take a job they don't really want -- earning a lot less and bitter about the whole thing.
So I thought I'd make this blog to offer some resources to use when applying for jobs or looking into employment as a roughneck.
The oil industry isn't going anywhere and if you can land a good job as a roughneck you'll make bank (starting pay is often close to $60,000) and form bonds that will last a lifetime with the guys in your crew.
